About the founder
Meet Sithara Sajeev
(nee Wijewardena)
Qualified physiotherapist, certified Clinical Pilates trainer and Diploma-Certified Meditation and Mindfulness Teacher.
My path into wellness has been both professional and deeply personal. Growing up in a Buddhist family, meditation was part of my early life, but I didn’t fully understand its transformative power until my early 30s.
During a time of personal struggle, I found myself turning inward. Meditation didn’t remove life’s challenges, but it helped me meet them with more awareness, compassion, and steadiness.
Through this practice, I began to experience a profound shift in the way I related to myself and the world around me. I learned to soften, to listen more deeply, and to meet all parts of myself with greater acceptance, including the strong parts, the tender parts, the light, and the shadows.
This inner journey became part of the foundation for State of Harmony. It inspired me to create a space where others could also feel supported to reconnect with themselves, their bodies, and their inner sense of calm.
My professional background
My wellness journey began with a strong foundation in physiotherapy. After graduating from The University of Melbourne in 2006, I gained extensive experience working in private practice and at Cabrini Private Hospital, supporting a wide range of clients.
In 2007, I discovered Pilates, a practice that not only supported strength, mobility, and body awareness, but also deepened my appreciation for the connection between the body and mind.
Over the past 20 years, I have worked with people experiencing chronic lower back and neck pain, as well as athletes wanting to improve their movement, strength, and performance. My approach has always been about more than physical improvement. I care deeply about helping people feel more connected, confident, and at home in their bodies.
As my own meditation practice deepened, I went on to complete my Diploma in Meditation and Mindfulness Teaching, allowing me to bring together my professional background in physiotherapy and Pilates with my love of meditation, mindfulness, and holistic wellbeing.
At State of Harmony, I integrate mindful movement, meditation, breath awareness, body connection, and sound to support the whole person. My work is grounded in the belief that the mind, body, and spirit are deeply interconnected, and that healing, growth, and self-connection can unfold gently when we are met with compassion, presence, and care.
