Small Group Mat Pilates in Glen Iris

Physio-informed Pilates and strength classes for women wanting to improve strength, mobility, posture and confidence in a calm, supportive studio.

Small, supportive and carefully guided classes

Our Mat Pilates classes are small, supportive and carefully guided, with a maximum of 6 people per class. You will receive more individual attention than you would in a larger studio or gym environment, with options and modifications to suit your body, experience level and needs.

Pilates-based movement with added strength training

Each class begins with Pilates-based movement to support core activation, mobility, posture and body awareness. We then build into strengthening exercises using equipment such as therabands, dumbbells, steps and other small props.

This combination is especially helpful if you want to feel stronger, more stable and more capable in daily life — whether that means improving posture, supporting joints, maintaining muscle mass, or moving with more ease and confidence.

With a maximum of 6 people per class, you will receive guidance, options and individual attention in a calm, supportive studio environment.

Led by Sithara, Senior Physiotherapist

Mat Pilates at State of Harmony is guided by Sithara, a senior physiotherapist with over 20 years’ experience.

Sithara loves Mat Pilates because it offers a simple, accessible and effective way to build strength, improve mobility and help people feel more connected to their bodies.

“I love Mat Pilates because it can meet you where you are. It does not need to feel intimidating or overwhelming. With the right guidance, small movements can make a meaningful difference to how you feel in your body — your strength, posture, mobility and confidence.

My approach is supportive, considered and physio-informed. I enjoy helping women move in a way that feels safe, achievable and empowering, especially during life stages where strength, balance and body confidence become so important.”

With small class numbers, Sithara is able to offer guidance, options and modifications so you feel supported throughout the class.

Supportive movement for perimenopause and menopause

Mat Pilates can be especially beneficial for women in perimenopause and menopause, when changes in strength, joint comfort, balance, posture, energy and mobility can become more noticeable.

Our classes focus on building functional strength, improving movement quality and supporting confidence in your body. You will be guided in a way that feels safe, encouraging and achievable — without the pressure or intensity of a big gym environment.
